View Full Version : sunon, or stock Volcano?

i am getting a volcano 7+, and was wondering if an 80mm fan could fit on there? i also was wondering, i have a Sunon KD1208PTB2 fan (80mmx80mmx25mm) and i was wondering if it is better than the fan that comes with the volcano 7+. If it is better, i need to know if it will fit.

Ps. I just realized yesterday that I have a sunon on my comp! It was placed in the front of the case, and wasn't blowing any air inside, cuz there are no holes in the front of the case!!! it was just there, wasting energy...yay! :rolleyes:

looking at the thermaltake website, here (http://www.thermaltake.com/products/heatsink/v7plus.htm), it says the volcano 7+ is a 70x70x25mm. Also the surrounding housing for the HSF is what hold everything together so I imagine you would have to find a way around that also...why not take a look at someother HSF like the AX-478

he's right, the V7+ is a 70mm. be careful with the ax-478 as some users here in this section have had issues with it. i will see if i can throw the link for you to read.

no it won't fit. and i do not know about fan adapters from 7x7 to 8x8 cm!

alright thanks for the posts, but i need to know if the sunon fan i have is a good one!

would my sunon on an ax-7 work better than a volcano 7+?

I don't know how good this fan is, so i was wondering if it would be worth it to put on an ax-7

PS-i have VERY limited funds, so i need to do this as cheaply as possible.
