is there like any precuations to be taken when building a phase change system and choosing between these 2? i mean if r290 gets colder then what needs to be done differently? i read the article of the front page its awesome and ill prolly use that when i plan on building my own system.

Um.. R290 is propane.. so don't smoke a cig while using it.. and yes it's much much better then that **** 134a.. it's the same charging precedure though..

Yep you have to take precautions while using it.Like not being a dumbass is a good one.Dont put open flames near it.Make sure you dont have any leaks, dont blame anyone if you burn your self by starting a fire. :p
You know stuff like that.

yea not to many extra preacuations need to be taken. it is lighter and will run just fine with a slightly higher psi than R134 all in all its great stuff. you may want to consider adding an oz or two of R134 for a weight boost it can in theory increase the efficancy of the system while you will loose about 5C off your temp that way.
