here is my question again
alright i have a mx2 400 with tv out, i'm running windows xp and have 512mb sdram in a pent 2 450. i'm trying to output LORD OF THE RINGS to my tv but as soon as i switch it to clone the desktop to the tv the damn thing won't show video but will play audio. i have played it fine with it just on the monitor but it won't output to the tv no matter what nvidia driver i use. tried a different dvd to see if that outputs to the tv and it works perfectly. i don't get it, i'm about ready to snap that damn dvd in half.
anyone else having similar problems?
anyone have any answers that might help?
You have to use the driver that comes from the manufacturer of your card. Try that and see if it works I had the same problem a while back. See I never would have seen this if it was not in the right section;) Have a nice day:D

or else your nview settings are right, make sure your tv settings are on NTSC not PAL, I had a similar problem and switching it to NTSC fixed it. I dont know why but alot of them are defaulted to PAL.

Oh wow I forgot about that I had that problem too. It defaulted to the european standard. Thanks for reminding me:beer:

He said it worked with one DVD and not another. Maybe its the copy protection. My DVD decoder wouldnt play any DVD through TV-Out without a hardware DVD decoder. But, I found that if you get TVTool, you can bypass this.

i switched it to NTSC and that didn't do anything helpful.
i'll try tvtool again, and also try to hunt up the drivers i got with the card. As far as i could tell it has to be something with the encryption like KLOWD said.
i'll post my results.

well i tried dvdidle, software that gets by macrovision. that got it to play when i'm using tv output. but won't show up on the tv. before it wouldn't play on the monitor while outputing to the tv.
downloading tvtool now. will try it after work.
any specific setting i should use in tvtool?
