what should i get?

i was sitting in my IT class today, and my instructor told us that we could get almost anything we want form microsoft for free, the only thing we can't get is the office package, but anything else is fairgame, so i was wondering what i should get, just to have, incase i ever need to use them.

yup i heard him right, everbody in the class had him clearify like 5 times lol, we were all supriesed. my college has some special deal going on with microsoft for my it class, the only problem is that we will not have access to technical support, but hell that what u guys are here for right?
