I did the following trick last week

Western Digital 120GB Pricematch 15-Sep-02
This requires a LOCAL Microcenter store with their Western Digital 120GB drive 7200 RPM ad for pricematching. Microcenter ad expires today. (Thanks xrockmanx)

1) Buy the 7200RPM 2MB cache drive from Best Buy at $249.
2) Bring the Microcenter ad and ask for a pricematch to $149.
3) Send in the $120 Bestbuy Rebate.

Final cost $29. If you have an American Express Gold, you can use the Best Value Guarantee to pricematch it in any location. Of course your mileage will vary with in store pricematches. Alternately you could buy and pricematch it at Officemax against your local Microcenter store.

I picked up 2x 120gb Western Digitals for under $60. :D

Anyway, braging aside, these disks are loud. Well, not loud but giving off alot of vibrations. This is rattling the whole system and drivng me insane. Has anybody manged to dampen a HD? My case is a chieftech black dragon. I was thinking of dapening them with some kind of rubber gromit in a 5 1/4" drive bay or something.

no hdparm -y /dev/hda is not an option!! (linux joke)
