ok i helped build a computer for someone one day and i bought it off them becuase they needed money, it is the comp in my sig. Before i got there to help him build it he had put in the mobo and proc/HS. I recently bought this off him and was having a little trouble with the temps. I was running at about 43 idle 52 load and i was gonna watercool. Well last night i took off the HS to check my stepping AGOIA, and i found that it had a thermal pad on it. I cleaned the pad off and applied AS3. I ran a looping 3dmarkse all night last night so that my CPU was at 100% usage and right now my temps have dropped a ton. At idle my case is at 26*c and my cpu is at 28*c, and at load my highest temp according to MBM5 is 33*c. I did not think that AS3 would do such a great job. I am extremly impressed. BTW i am using stock cooling with two POS fans that give me almost no caseflow
wow... i'm gonna order me some as3 2moro morning!

Yea I just recently (last night) applied some to my stock heatsink which I used to get high 50's under full load now after 1 full day of it being under full load my temps are max of 53* C in the middle of the day (I keep my windows open this time of the year) and about 48* C at night. And it will probalby drop even more once it get settled in.

What kind of fan are you running on your AX-7?

Man I don't mean to jack your thread.. sorry. Do you think Thermalright would RMA this AX-7?
edit- more on topic, I do love Arctic Silver as well. When I was running my P3 700E @ 1000 with an Alpha PAL6035 and Delta screamer, going from the RadioSnack goop to the original AS showed a 3-5º drop in full load temps. I didn't bother with AS2 and I had a buttload of AS left. But I was interested in AS3 and sure enough it showed a 1º improvement immediately and over time that grew to about 2º. Awesome stuff.

i do not use an ax-7 TSA i use the retail HS and HSF and i don't mind at all 1337pants
Oh, I missed the part about you using stock cooling. And since you said it's the computer in your sig, I assumed you were using the AX-7..why aren't you?? It will definitely cool better than the retail heatsink
