This kinda ****es me off. I really wanted creative to make a consumer version of that chip. I didn't think it would have been the best performing chip, but I love competition. Their consumer level cards will only use Nvidia chips now. It is also good to note that the article only covers retail cards in Europe, but I think it will also translate to the states too.

I wonder if Nvidia gave them a HUGE discount to come back into the fold, or if creative had to go crawling back to them to get back in thier good grace.

Here is the read :

There are several different Creative divisions which have some degree of autonomy . For example Creative Europe and Americas ahve decided not to sell a 9700 Pro in their areas while Creative Asia sells one !

That said , I am somewhat disappointed by the decision not to bring the P10 into the fray .More competition is normally good for us . Maybe they think that it won't compete well enough esp against the refreshed 9700 or the NV30 ......... I dunno .

The hope may well be that the European group's ideas are different from the other divisions . I however already have my DirectX9 part so it won't directly affect me at all .
