View Full Version : Z4 Aqua Sink for CPU and GPU
I've ran into a good deal on these blocks and I'd like to get your opinions of them. I searched already and ran into some bad reviews, but most seem to be based on the original spiral-type block. There's a new revision out, check the overclockershideout.com site to see it.
AMDDB.com has a review up also:

Seems pretty good, and that's with a rad. I'm gonna be bong-ing this sucka.
I havn't heard any bad about the GPU block, and plus a GPU doesn't exactly put out massive heat that'd need a super-block anyway. I got a Ti200 and I wanna vmod the GPU once I get my water setup, so what do you think?

CPUFX is the only company that has a really shady reputation. Some people have no problems, but many do have problems. Most of the complaints I've heard are about theire pumps, but the pumps they sell aren't really top performing.
I read somewhere that you can't put additives in their pumps like watter wetter, or you void your warranty. This may be a a past thread in this forum. I don't know if the same think applies for their blocks though.
The only think I can tell you is to be VERY catious and make sure you complete understand their return policies before you buy.

I used a CPUfx block for over a year with near ambient temps and no leakage or whatever. Got it for 29 bucks. If you're just looking for a silent watercooling solution and not a big heat load remover this is your block.
Any other opinions?

it is a good block, the original had a bit of flow restriction but this is porbably gone now thanks to the redesign - it also looks good but i have heard the barbs can leak due to the non standard design - info here: http://www.procooling.com/reviews/html/waterblock_roundup_part1-1_2_0.shtml (they still use the same aluminum barbs and the Z3- but now they have been anodised different colours)
the new blocks are AOK, they are learning from their critisisms!

That's what I'm thinking... If you check out the AMDMB review I linked to they seem to perform quite well, and those are digidoc5 temps, no in-socket trickery business. Plus AMDMB is one of the more reputable sites as far as I know.
I know the Z4 has a shady reputation, but I think that's mostly the old spiral-esqe block's fault. I don't why they didn't just re-name the thing when they completely changed the design, it'd save alot of confusion.
Anyone else?

Most of the criticisms I've heard still centers around their warranty and support. I hope those have changed just liek this block has. I wodl recommend that you doa search for "CPUFX" or "Overclockershideout" in this forum and in Procooling and HardOCP, you will get mucho info.
