That particular Registry Key (which Ad-Aware finds) relates to the "Show Related Links" component in the IE6 "Tools" menu, and uses Alexa technology to show related site info. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to disable it...although I don't think it's anything to worry about. ;)

I was told that removing this particular entry causes problems with IE. I haven't confirmed this anywhere else, however. Just to be safe, I put that Alexa key in Ad-Aware's "Ignore List."

i deleted the Alexa key using ad-aware about half a week ago and my internet explorer seems to be running fine... i have not checked to see if it regenerates or anything like that... but no problems here. remember you could always make a system restore point if you are that worried, then delete the key and if it messes it up, restore your computer to the old point.

I had a problem with a key called xupiter.. I was cruising some websites and then a webpage redirected me to www.xupiter.com

Somehow it installed a toolbar automatically even when I had my IE security settings set high. I had my software firewall to even protect from scripts.

Well anyhow, Ad Aware helped me get rid of the pop ads that came with xupiter... but I could not un-install that annoying xupiter tool bar. I had to go to the website and click on link that would download an installer package that would allow me to unistall this crazy tool bar. I tried deleting the files associated with xupiter registry keys, but no install of the tool bar unitil I went to the website itself on FAQ, "Un-install Xupiter tool bar" I mean under add remove programs there was no place to remove it at all.

Ad Aware is great, rox.. I too deleted my Alexa key..no changes in my IE or system for that matter.

I just found a freeware prog that helps in locating and removing spyware, called SpyBot S&D. Found quite a few instances of crap on my rig. You can find it here;
