View Full Version : UPS dropped off my new block today

UPS NEVER leaves me anything. I always get the little yellow slip on my door when I'm not home. I figured I'd have to wait till monday to go pick the block up. I came in the house and tracked the ordered. It showed it as delivered, so first I freaked that they delivered it to the wrong house, but then I went outside and found my lil white box hiding behind my plants :)
Sorry about the bad picture quality. I don't have canon camera I anymore, so I had to use the old kodak DC3200.

Here ya go masked
BTW, I may not get this installed until the middle of next week. I'm going to finish my res this weekend out of the junction box, then start some leak testing. I know you guys don't like the idea of using a res, but since this is my first WC setup, I like the idea of keeping my pump sealed up.

wut kind of pump are you using again?

Looks good. Do you know, off hand, if they're still having issues with supply?

thnx man, is there any way you can get closer? because im tryin got see how thick and how much gap and stuff they have.. how easy are they to compress with your fingers?

Danner model2. The utility version, not the pond version. It is rated at 250GPH. I took back the Danner model 3 (350GPH) and decided that this will be enough for now. Another pump may be in my future when my home made block plans come to being.

This was the only block they had in stock when I ordered it. It shipped the next day after I ordered it though, so I'm happy.
I just ran by their site and the only 2 blocks they have in stock are these
Gemini Cool High Flow P-4 (478) Spiral
Aluminum Topped Spir@l Waterblock

Sorry masked. These are the best closeups I can do. Man this camera sucks. If I get any closer, it gets REALLY blurry.
They are pretty stiff springs though. You can compress it about 75% with one hand, then you have to push with 2 hands to get it all the way down.

Nope, just the one listed above. I still haven't installed it yet though.
Today, I finished putting barbs on my res and heatercore with JBweld. That should be set by 12:00PM EST tomorrow. I also ran by Pep boys and bought some water wetter and RTV sealant for my magdrive pump. The pump is sealed great now.
If all goes well, I'll start leak testing tomorrow sometime.

We can compare temps when we both get the block setup and running. What other gear are you using with the block?
JFettig
09-28-02, 11:09 PM

hehe... you guys are just too nice. :-P
I ordered:
Via Aqua 1300
Cooler Core (<- This time I'll seal it before I put any H2O through it)
Spir@l - Aluminum top
8ft. Tygon 1/2"
...and some other crap, but it won't make a difference in temps.
I also bought a new case from a guy over at the [H].:burn:

...My chip wont due 12 X 167 at 1.9V, wich is as high as my Asus A7N266 will give. As soon as Epox releases their nForce 2 board, I'm gonna be all over it!
