IRQ,M/bd,S/W,OS help

My new system(as of 26 September) is as follows.
P4-2.4b
ASUS P4B533-v (ie- intel 845g chipset)
256 DDR266Mhz,
ASUS Geforce3 t2 deluxe,
segate ATA 4 80GB HDD @2 50% partitions(Master)
segate ATA 4.3BGB HDD (slave)
BENQ DVD rom (1648a).
HP 16x cd-writer.

OS: WIN98 SE (Directx 8.1)

I HAVE INSTALLED ALL THE SOFTWARES THAT CAME WITH THE MOTHERBOARD (ASUSupdater, ASUS PC probe, Intel INF drivers, Intel application accelerator and PC cillin 2002).

I am being troubled with frequent system/iexplore crashes, I suspect that this is due to the IRQ conflicts in my system,

i have attached a bmp image for the same.
Also I found that DVD rom unable to read CD-Roms, if the program "Intel application accelerator" is installed, on uninstalling this program the DVD drive reads cd-roms.

I ran Dr.Watson and it says that there is a problem in the software "ASUS PC probe" which moniters motherboard fan,temp,voltages etc. Now I have uninstalled that too. I don't wish to overclock my system i want it to run steady is there something else I can do.

Windows 98 se doesnt handle irq's that good imho. Make sure you have the most current drivers for your motherboard. If you have pci cards make sure nothing is right next to your video card or sound card. Also trying changeing the locations of other cards. Keep Asus Probe uninstalled and install MBM5 as a monitor.

i have now installed winME.
my internal soundcard and lan are now sharing the same IRQ.
what is the difference between PIC(prog intr controller) and APIC(advanced intr controller), which one is more efficient?
can i manually assign IRQ ?
now i have conflicts wherein not only interrupts but also memory locations are same, is this FATAL?
