Yes, 266 FSB. I don't know about 200 FSB...

2 weeks? Sure, maybe sooner (the date most agree on is Oct. 1st).

The last 200 MHz fsb cpus were T-birds(besides Durons that is) so these will definitely be 266 MHz fsb. Does anybody know about the specs of the 2700+ and 2800+?

2700+ and 2800+ wil both have a 333Mhz FSB and 256KB L2 cache. They will run at 2.13Ghz and 2.2Ghz respectivly as far as I understand becaue the 333Mhz FSB adds 100 points to the PR so a 2700+ will be at the same clockspeed as a 2600+ but with just a higher fsb and the 2800+ will have the usual 67 Mhz increase. I am curious as to how high these cpus will overclock and how well the 2400+ will do once it has newer core steppings. The 2400+ has a 15x multiplier so if the core steppings improve a bunch that might turn it into even more of an overclockers dream. It already hits upping it to a 166Mhz FSB without unlocking it cause that is almost 2.5Ghz. Remember what happened to the Palamino core after they tweeked it some....if this happens again I'll just get myself a 2400+ and run it locked at a 166 or higher fsb. That'll make it at least a 3300+ cpu which will be very very nice. Now to wait for it to get cheep....

Yes, Asus has updated the A7V333 BIOS to support 333FSB.

I think i'll wait it out, see what steppings do best. If it's anything like the XP's were, that could take some time. Besides, i'll be buying the nv30 before I buy a new AMD chip.

Toms Hardware did a review and overclocking test with a xp2600+, if i remember right they got it up to 2.88GHZ stable using a KT333 motherboard, which equals a PR of 3700+..here's the article>

http://www17.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q3/020821/index.html

... But they did it with phase-change cooling, the on-die temp was
-41C.. not the kind of set up most of us have. also all the benchmarks were posted. as far as ordering/preordering, go to www.computerblocks.com they have the XP2600+ available as of 9/27/02

I placed my order here:

These guys are the fastest shipper I've found and if they say Oct 3 I'll trust them. I figure I'll receive it a week from Monday.
