View Full Version : Pump AC connector: need advice!!!
Hey guys(and gals?)... I am popping (sounds so fast and so easy!!) a WC setup into my system, and just canabalized a female AC jack for the pump... I cut the plug off of the pump cable and have the standard white black and green... However, the female AC jack has three odd colors the top two are blue and brown, and I cut the bottom one off, bcz I am wiring the green from the pump directly to the case(to avoid putting on the same loop as the PSU??)... So I guess all I am wondering is: does it matter if black goes to blue or if black goes to brown???
thx,
Dean
Hey Dim
Hook the brown to black and the blue to the white one.
Get used to seeing the brown/blue combo, that's fairly common in Europe and other parts of the world. Alot of psu's use that color scheme also.

Diggrr,
Thanks for the advice... I accidentally cross posted this, and got a reply from TLKfatman warning against grounding to the case... Do you have an opinion on this??
Thx,
Dim
I wouldn't ground to the case, cause you may cause monitor interference.

Or just go to radio shack and get a 12v relay so the 120v pump turns on/off with your PSU.
