I'd say it's your wimpy little cooler. What kind of temps do you have?

Well might be your cooler but need to know your CPU temps before I could conclude that. Do you know them?
I would assume your Vdimm and Vcore are default.
Be certain it is:
133 FSB x 13 Multiplier
Vcore - 1.75v
Vdimm - 2.5 or 2.55v in some cases

temp is 40-45 c

I assume that is idle. what is loaded?
Also what is the mobo? We need to know if the temps are read off the cpu or via the mobo and the mobo tells us. You can just say it is on-die if that is the case.

I seriously doubt (understand, I've never been wrong before... thats a joke) that this is a HSF problem. When I'm running my 2100 my normal temp jump under load is about 10C. So unless something weird is going on with your machine, the HSF isn't the problem.
I would suggest next removing any cards you might have installed (except the video card of course). Take them out and try. These shouldn't be the problem unless you have a bad card. If you do see the same problem then you can replace them, it isn't a card problem. It is something else.
Sorry but this is a somewhat slow process.

By the way,
Welcome to the Forums Welcome to the Forums

might be that mobo, Im setting up a system for a friend, I purchased that mobo along with an xp2000 and it won't even post, thought I had a bad CPU rma'd it and the second one is the same.. anyone else heard of any problems with the Dragon Lite..?
the mobo does run xp1600+ but not oc'd over 1700+ becomes unstable.. also runs a 1ghz t-bird..
I tried the 2000+ in my machine (see sig) and the led readout comes up that its a bad chip.. I wonder if the Dragon Lite is killing the cpu's??
