i have so much bass going threw my speakers, they sound like crap. i have a sub also so turning down my bass is a no-no does winamp have any way of removing just the bass from my speakers, and keep it for the sub? i would really love some clear music. just a temp thing until i get my computer back to the states and hook it up to my home theater system :)

You need an equalizer.

Get Musicmatch Jukebox Plus. This program rocks. EQ, burning proggy, radio, library, the whole works.
sounds like what you need is actually a crossover. It can make sure the speakers aren't forced to try to reproduce really low bass- all of that gets routed to the sub, instead.
of course I have no idea if Winamp or anything has a plugin for this. PRobably does, might wanna just search around. :D

when you turn the bass down, it turns the sub bass off also. i just want to elimate the bass from the speakers w/o cutting the wires

All you need to do is wire a capacitor in series with the speakers you want to block the bass from. As to what size, type or value capacitor, I really dont know myself.
But Crutchfield sells some "bass blockers". Again, thier a capacitor that you wire in series with the speaker, but they already figured out the ratings for you.;)

Didn't notice you said you didn't want to cut the wires. I dont think theres any program available that will route the correct frequencies to your speakers. So a crossover or capacitor is probably your only way.
I am going to have to agree. I wish I knew the thing with the caps about 6 months ago before my wife blew out my sys with to much base through the front channel. (she had the suround turned of and the sub turned of and wanted more base.............................................. .and of course "all your base, are belong to us"
