Ok I'm sure some one has had to of had this problem before. I play tourneys and such at my bro's house b/c he has cable internet over there. Well on the second machine I use when I play CS over there it doesn't like CS I guess. We've checking the fire walls and there's nothing wrong with those (we think). I try to click on the server at the server list but it just keeps giving me a "cannont connect to server" crap. So I tried connecting through console. After about 12ish times or so it'll connect, then just to time out. Everytime I connect to the server it'll time out sooner or later. They 2 maching have seperate ips.

Windows 2k
384ram
450proc
3com NIC in there right now Would a Intel nic make a difference?? we have an extra
Not sure of the rest of the specs on it...I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Thanks for any help provided.

Ok a friend of mine was having this error also.
For some reason (i dunno why) but if you have the res in the video settings not set right that will give you conntection problems.
try/make sure your at 800x600 and either direct 3d(if you have an older card) or Open GL ( for geforce2+ cards)
if that doesnt work, try connecting the computer Directly to the dsl modem (unhook the router and other comp. this will tell you if its the router or a networking problem.
if neither work, Go to some speed sites and make sure your getting speeds close to the 1st computer on that lan. if not then you dont have your net working settings setup right.
hope this helped

You could try to connect through another program. GamespyArcade for example.
That fixed it for me...
