ive heard of people having issues with enermax's and epox boards, is this true? people have told me enermax psu's even tho it has high readings on other boards, it wudnt be so when paired with an epox board, specifically the 8kha+? im thinking of buying a psu soon, the ones available locally are enermax and hec. do any of u guys with epox boards and psu's stated above have low 5v?

I sure hope not. an Epox 8k5a2+ is arriving in the mail within the next couple days, and I gotta Enermax 350W.

I am the happy owner of an Enermax powering an XP 1600 on an Epox 8KHA+:D
Before I did any volt mods, I had this system running with an XP1700@1710 and my 5v was around 4.9v most of the time: chip kept me from achieving more....until I did Volt Mods:D
After doing the mosfet and vcore mods, my 5v line started to get quite low when the vcore was at 2.1v, so I found the 5v mod for Enermax power supplies.
Great mod!!! I have since modded the vmem as well, and even when I max all voltages (2.1 vcore and 3.5 vmem) I still have no trouble with low 5v readings.
On to my point: I think Enermax has some quality problems- beyond most: their GOOD power supplies are fantastic, but they seem to sell just as many weak ones. Good thing is that the 5v mod is VERY easy, although you do have to void the warranty to do it. But then you can adjust your 5v rail while running:D, which is not possible with any other psu I know of;)
I would buy another, definitely, but the fact is that you may need to mod the psu to get good voltages IF you get one of the weak ones.

That problem was mainly back in the day of the 8K7A (my board) :)
I dont think there is much of a problem anymore.

I got the enermax 431 and I would have to say that there is a slight problem with the 5v. I have an Epox 8K5A3+ and I am showing 4.70 on the 5V. I just switched to an Antec power supply and am now showing 4.91 on the 5v. So yes I would have to say the Epox and Enermax do have some issues. The volt mod for the enermax is pretty easy. I have tried it and it brought my 5v up to about 5.50v and my 12v up to 12.63v.

I would suggest bring that 5v down a bit too: anything over 5v is not helping any more and it may hurt something in the long run.....
Of course, I won't say anything about the 12v because mine is higher than yours, lol
