ok i got a new system from NewEgg.com and got some questions

Maxtop 8870k w/350ps w/side fan
Ak32L mobo
XP1600 agioa -didnt read anything off before i put it together
Igloo 2310 fan speed 5000rpm CFM 20.3

using pc100 sdram(from old system)

ok...here's the question's

1) Why is my system only running at 1050 Mhz? is it because im running SDRAM instead of DDR?

2) At idle my cpu is reading 45c and load is at 51c....that is at 100 clock if i take it to 133 then my idle is 49c and thought it was running too hot to push it under load. Is that bad? I looked around at other threads to see what temps are running and im just not sure.

This is because your ram and FSB are both operating at 100MHz which means that the AthlonXP will be running 100 X 10.5 instead of 133 X 10.5.

You need either PC133 or DDR SD-Ram to have your motherboard officially run at 133MHz or behond. Check to see which chipset you have and let me know.

Can you not set your memory to Host +pci-clk you never know you might be able to run your current memory at 133 then your Xp will run correctly.

well what is bothering me is the heat issue. if i run my system at 133/266 then my temp goes up. how high should i let it run before i should get worried?

should be fine under load as long as it is stable.

Well tell us what the temp you get are!
You be safe till about 50-55c before instability set in.

ok, the case i got had a side fan and i changed it to the top back fan port and my temp are now runnin around 46c under load at 133 clock, that is with sandra burni test....ran it 10 times for a short test. and when i go idle the temp drops fast so if i get another fan i should be ok. thanks for all the help guys(gals)
