Well I put together the machine I posted in the classifieds this morning to see just how it would fold against my P4 2.1 and to my surprise Whoa! did this thing smoke the Pentium. The XP2200 is about to go to Durex, but not before a day or two of "Folding" CYA!

lol - i'm sure durex won't mind - i've seen him post on here a few times before so i guess he's a folder

I call this "The AMD Folding Advantage." Because of AMD's better FPU, the slower AMD's consistently outfold the faster PIV's. :D

Don't worry tho as once the Gromacs core is introduced properly the SSE instructions will come into play more - AMD will still have the advantage but the P4s won't look as rediculously outclassed as they do at the moment.

Just FOLD IT!!! :D

This XP 2200 has caught up to and passed my P4 with ease. It's already on the third while to Intel is on the second still and thats with a 12 hour lead!

Fold with what you have, and anything you can make run...:)

I've got a P II 350 here running Linux Mandrake, Folding away... It took 5 days to finish a p180 homeowhoosiwhatsit, but it's still points, and closer to the cure.

I would take a handful of XP's over a roomful of P II's though...:p

I'd fold with Intel's, too, but........I don't have any. My computer, and all the computers at my dad's office are AMD's. :)
