Which CPU?

I want to buy a new cpu. Which one? The xp2200 or the xp1600 and overclock it heavily?

Better wait a few days you'll get the chance to get an XP2400 or 2600, which will have much better OC potencial, XP2400 runs at 2GHz default and the 2600 runs at 2.13GHz. now they both OC to around the same numbers so IMHO, go with the XP2400 when it comes out (should be available really soon, like a few days)

if you want something cheap, get the 1600 definately. it'll still beat the 2400 per value say.

if you've got cash to blow, go for the 2400, it'll be about 200 USD compared to the 1600 which is around 50 bux.

a good 1600 will reach around 1.9ghz with 1.85-1.9v
a good 2400 will _probably_ reach around 2.4 ghz

you get what you pay for.

just don't get the 2200 right nowas they don't overclock much better than the 1600. and they cost 2 to 3 times as much.

I'd say get the XP1600+ for now and save up for a 2400.

guess this all depends on money and patience! Limited funds go XP1600+ Plenty money and patience and you might want to wait for the XP2800+ with 333MHz FSB!! Plenty money and no patience and go for the XP2400+ and XP2600+ which now seem to be available.
