View Full Version : Super Orb known to kill tbirds or is it just the G-orb?
Cause a friend got me one after i told i reached 1.4 gig with stock heat moded with freaking fast fan.....i will have to mod the orb to fit my KT7A..i just wanted to know if it bring an uderly death to my 1gig 266 tbird...?

Odds are that the Orb, any Orb will shorten the life expectancy of a 1gig+ T-Bird. they were not designed for that kind of heat. Here is a review of some viable and reasonable options;

well would it be better than what i currently have? it crappy heatsink with a 6000 rpm fan so the fan is okay but the heatsink sux

maybe, but really, they don't go all that well for that much heat. Get an alpha pep66t and mod it to fit on your board, a swiftech, globalwin, or even better one of the many new all coper heatsink such as the CAK 38 from Globalwin. Those should cool that bird really well!
Yeah you will have to mod the S-Orb to fit a KT7A and the clip is so tight on those darned Orb's that they have crushed many a T-bird. They cant really keep up with the current high speed T-birds. They just run so hot you should look into a better HSF. Alpha, Globalwin, Taisol to name a few.
