Here's another one. Finally a 333mhz bus! Still I'd take all this with a grain of salt. AMD seems to jump the gun alot with announcements like this.

Funny how the results vary so much from review to review, i woul've liked to see results from the 2nd review with an Epox 8KA5+ board instead of the Nforce one.

Not bad. But I would have liked to see them mention how the actual cooling went for them because the 2200+ is very hot and that is hotter. I would like to see some ocin' results too. Although we still won't see much of it yet... The 2600+ haven't been released on the market either.

Well the 2800 looks pretty good. The 2600/2400 on the other hand look like duds.

The P4 2.4 Northwood trounces them in pretty well all benchmarks.

Hopefully the price makes it worth it though.

Problem is that the Nforce 2 is very buggy at present ............. hope they get that and DDR 400 fixed .

I saw one review (don't ask where, I've read too many today) showing the 2600 ahead of the 2800. Probably due to the chipsets.

Also looks like the 2600 may be the better overclocker, hopefully the 2400 will be too. I haven't seen a 2400 oc test yet.

hardocp has a 2400 oc test. it went to 2.4 or 2.5ghz i think, can't remember. anyway, just go there and read it, it was only 1 page long.

I have been seriously thinking about getting one of the 166Mhz AMD processors, but after seeing these results and knowing how long it will actually be untill they are released, Intel seems like the smarter choice.

AMD used to be, pound for pound, a better processor, but at a 300.00+ price range it falls short. Being beat out by the 2.53 in many cases. And you can pick up a 2.53 for under 230.00. Not to mention, by the time this is released the 3.06 will be out and the 2.53 will probally be around 150.00 or so. So now Intel is looking like the best bang for the buck.

I am very disapointed in AMD, they have fallen very short in the past 6 months and are continuing to do so. I was ready for the Hammer, but now I am looking more forward to next generation Intel processors. The only thing AMD has done right, although it has yet to be released, is upping the FSB to 166MHz. Now if Intel would do the same we would have something.

atleast thy oc well, amdzone had them up to 2.5 on air, wich would be at a guess above 3000+, shame about the timing though

I don't see how the xp2400 is a dud. That would really be my cpu of choice, or even better the 2200 b version when it comes out. Those will oc like mad!

Too bad about the wait though...

The 2400+ review at www.firingsquad.com showed it to be an excellent oc'er and it is also only a pencil trick unlock .

Just another paper launch. AMD will have announced the XP2900+ and XP3000+ at or before christmas but I dont expect that any of these cpus could possiblely even become available before that time.

I think AMD should concentrate on getting the 2400 and 2600 models out the door before even thinking about releasing yet another XP only to be found on paper and in prototypes that only hardware review sites can use.

Yet another crazy paper launch.
