can the Raid port on my TH7II-raid be use as a normal IDE port ???

i try to plug in my CD-writer but cannot be detected.
how should i get about doing that???

I'm not sure, but I heard that you can only run hard drives on the raid (3&4) ports. What I heard is that if the raid s/w is not installed, the raid ports will support hard drives, but that is my opinion, I could be wrong. (sorry Dennis)

Yes, you can! But you can't run ATAPI devices like CD-ROM or DVD-ROM on these ports...

then wat can i run on this port ?????
if i were to connect 1HD,1CDRW,1CDRom,1DVDrom to it,what it the best way to set up ????
 
Put the hard disk by itself on a raid port, CD and DVD on ide1, CDRW on ide2.

i cannot boot up with my Hd on raid port.
the Hd was detected by upon reaching the flash it hang and BSOD appeear.
saying the a Hd having error.
