Friends 3Dmark FPS under 20 in first 3 tests.

Hi there.

My friend has a new Soltek ddr333, XP1700, Mentor GF2 64mb MMX with 29.42 drivers, 256mb crucial ddr2700, maxtor 20gb HD and Win XP

When he runs 3Dmark2001se the screen is all jerky and he gets about 1,400 score and his FPS is about 20 max and as low as 5 or 6. It will only run the maps at low level detail.

Any ideas why this is such a low score?

I'm think he has a very dodgy 3D card.

I tweaked the normal tweaks for him for running the 3DMark bench test. But it made no real difference.

run the directx diagnose utility from the directx setup folder and make sure it wont report any error.
make sure all video accelerations are enabled under the display tab.
what OS is your friend running?

that really low. otto is right. the score i used to get a p3 1gig is about 3000-3500.
