i'm trying to make a duct for my CPU. i don't have anything thta can cut a hole in my panels so i'm using the rear case fan. i need a duct that can make a 90 degree bend. ducting material has to be big enough to fit around an 80mm fan and an slk800. looks isn't much of an issue.

please give me suggestions i've been thinking on this for a week and i'm stumped.

lol, cardboard and ducttape would work.

lol i know i'm sorta anal about this. what kind of cardboard? like rip off the side of a box or like paper towel rolls. paper towel rolls are to small. i was thinking of like that hose you see going out the back of clothes driers

Yeah that's pretty much what I did too... Too lazy to butcher the case....

Yeah, all you're looking for is something to channel the air. Personally, I prefer the professional cardboard, much nicer shade of brown :D

Just make sure it's not compressing the air too much as you'll lose a small amount of performance. i.e. If you're using an 80mm fan, make the duct 80mm in diameter.

Anything that's solid and rigid, corrigated (the stuff with the wavy piece in the center) is about as solid as you can it. It's found on most boxes. If you don't want to go that route you can always cut up a shoe box, or the box your speakers came in, etc...

I think that's the answer you were looking for... :)

I have a duct that goes through the rear intake. I used reflective charcoal "craft" cardboard. It's thin material that is reflective and shiny, but its still cardboard. I reckon I did a pretty profesh job on it. I just used sticky tape to hold it together from the inside.
It makes a 90deg bend but it's curved at the bend if you get what I mean.
