View Full Version : OCZ Goliath 2 SE is it good?
Hi just trying to find out how good this hsf is. OCZ Goliath 2 SE.
Is it noisy?
would it be better then Thermaltake Volcano 9 Heat Sink & Fan.
which if those 2 would probably be most quiet one.

i did a google search and i came up with a review from neoseeker.com. they had an 8000 rpm high-perf. delta on top of this hs and it produced 45cfm @30-50db. i would say that the dba rating is dependant on the type of fan. with this delta setup, it is still quieter than the V9. the volcano 9 all out, spins at 4800rpm @48db.
hmm all I know its OCZ standard fan and I wouldn’t be replacing it with any other if i get it... but if its more quieter then I guess ill go with that.. See if more people will post any other comments.

I read a review of the OCZ Goliath 2 SE with an INSANE fan too. It is a perfect example of mating an average Heatsink design to a ridiculously , stupidly, just plain obnoxious fan and calling it a performance part. I would avoid it if you value your ears.
I also read another review where the fans was replaced with a slower model and the HSF showed its true colors.....an average performer. If you want good cooling, consider a thermalright AX7 and mate it with a medium speed fan
P.S. I'll try and find those reivews I was talking about.
