I'm not sure how it happened but one of the transisitors came off of my Gforce 3 Ti 200 card. The card still works but the system doesn't recognize it. It works but no 3d acceleration when I play games. It runs all my applications but under device manager it shows unkown brand.
Can I sodder it back on or is it toast. It has a lifetime warranty but I wonder if they will say it was my fault?
 :(

call them and ask, if they won't take it back solder it back on....I also doubt it's a transistor...if it was held on by 2 prongs it was most likely a capacitor, I would goto radioshack and pickup a new transistor rather then put the old one on. Make sure you get the same transistor though.
Again make sure they won't take it back before you solder anything otherwise there is no way in hell they'd take it back if you got solder all over the board.
Good luck with it :)

Find out if they will fix it first. If not, I would just solder a replacement back on, making sure that I had an exact copy of the offending component. And also take care as to not get solder on any other traces or components.
Good luck dude !!!

It wa held on by 2 prongs, I believe it was a capactior. There is another one just like it beside the one that is gone. Can I get that at Radio Shack? ;)
