ok im going to unlock my cpu like this week..but i have one quick question. Is it FAR better to have the multplier down and raise the FSB? like even if the clock rate is smaller than if i were to raise both the multiplier and FSB? I know it gets more bandwith...so im thinking it is better but im not sure. I play a lot of games and if lowering the multiplier makes them run "a lot lot faster" i think i would do it.

Yes. Data transfer within the motherboard is controlled by the clock rate. Low multi + high FSB = best performance overall.-

Remember that when you raise the FSB it also affects the PCI bus and you can run into problems with video card, sound card, ethernet card, modem, hard drive, CD ROM, etc.

It is all a tradeoff.

Use Prime95 to test stablity once raising FSB. Drop it to a reasonable rate so whatever you're around e.g. 170fsb x a certain multiplier = around stock speed or very close so you don't need excessive voltage yet. Do one thing at a time. Now, with that FSB test Prime and see if it goes. You should also run memtest86 if you have spare time because Prime95 doesn't pickup memory errors that well, just major ones.

FSB is where it counts ;)

ok thanks one more question, I have 2100 ram and it gets around 150 FSB (at 146 right now). If i lower the multiplier i can go above the 150 right? or do i need new ram? Thanks
