Server HDD LEDs

I was looking at some server cases, and they have seperate hdd leds for all the hard drives. I was just wondering, do those leds connect to server motherboards or is that a scsi thing?

Some drives(the ones I have seen were all scsi) have LED headers on the drives, so the LEDs just connect to the individual drives.

ahh i was kind of wondering. thanks for the info. now i want to buy some scsi drives:)
