My new home built case for my mp3 puter :) under construction!!

Well, i finally got my computer that i wish to use in my final project of my mp3car. So i needed a lil case for it. I was going to put it in the console, but there really wasnt enough room for the sound card and video card later i am gonna add. I wanted to stick with my sound blaster live 5.1 .. since i am using a tape adaptor for now.

OK here is some pictures of my box. Its still in progress. but i just had to show it off :) The final case will be covered in a black vinyl or leather.. to match the rest of my jeep grand cherokee limited, and i am gonna put a removable hard drive rack.... and some nice cold cathode lighting :) it sets nice on the floor on the hump in the middle in the back seat.

now just finishing touches... running my leds out and i got a couple power and reset switches to mount.

oh and i gotta put some cooling in there.. not sure what way i wanna exhaust and intake.. now i am in process of building me a dc/dc power supply and it will be set ;)

and thats it.. this was more for a project on a different forum, but i liked the case and how it looked so thought i would share it hear :)

just 2 evenings.. not long....

its not running yet... i will probably put an 80mm intake and exhaust on the bottom, and do the same for the top.

then i wanna try one of those "new" cold cathodes i have seen that are 3 different colors.

gotta get something to cool it off. its fall now so i am not as worried bout it as i will be in summer. it will be in my jeep most of the time and that black leather gets hot.

Man if thats in your car I would think that would really need some decent cooling. Esecially if you got your jeeps top up. That would be toasty.

And DAMN YOU!!! You inspired me....I think im gonna make an Mp3 comp for my Blazer now : P. Not sure on how Im gonna do it yet. I want to buy a small LCD screen for the front of the car and keep the comp itself in the trunk...maybe keep the lcd screen in the glovecompartment.

Well see I got a spare Case, P3 667mhz, 128ram, so all i need really is a Monitor, keyboard, HD, and a mouse. I think I may be able to get a cheap 10gig or so for it. And then spend maybe a 100 on like a 7in LCD screen if there is such a thing.
