I have been cranking up my fsb and I noticed that I get to a point where it seems that the video is screwed up (I get flashing characters right at boot). I searched but I didnt find anything about correcting this...is there a way to correct this?
setup
Geforce4 Ti4200 MSI
A7V333
XP1800 (unlocked)
Corsair XMS PC2700

Once your FSB gets to the 38-39Mhz range, you can start getting problems. Hard drives are also know to cause problems at high FSBs. I have 2 questions for you.
Does your motherboard support PCI dividers?
What is your current FSB speed?
Correcting.. When the PCI-clock reaches the upper 30's you may run into problem and the AGP depends on the PCI-clock.
And if you run out of the specs you may get some problem before you know it...

I dont remember exactly what the fsb was, somewhere in the 180-190 range I believe.
I have read people hitting 200 FSB with this board, but I didnt look at what video card they were running.

I've got the exact same mbo and have hit 206fsb w/o any video/graphics problems.

yea maxima, your posts were probably the 200+ speeds that I was talking about.
I forgot to mention that I have the 128 meg ti4200. I dont know if that would make a difference though

Are you having problems when you o/c the vid card or even at default speeds?
the only way to get it corrected is by decreasing the AGP interface from 4x to 2x - this is if you have it set to 4x.
i dont think you will want it set to 1x in the case you have it set to 2x.
