Hi
I have an Intel D845EBT m/b with a P4 2.53 Engineering Sample CPU and would just love to overclock this babe.

My PLL is from Cypress called CY283460C.
Can anyone out there help me get it working with CPUFSB?

Thanks peeps.

Arnie

Arnie, good news- bad news. Intel brand motherboards will not overclock, but I will buy the processor from you.

You need to find a motherboard that will allow o/cing.

How much? (or send a replacement 2.53)
Its a waste having a CPU like this if it cant be overclocked.
Id rather just buy myself a stock standard 2.53 then.

Arnie

Thanks J, I would have bought him a new processor.

Seriously, get a new overckockable board. Don't lose that chip. (I'd love one though)

steve

Im a bit strapped for cash at the moment guys.(seriously)
I guess Ill have to stick with 2.53 then.
Arnie

Whatever you do, KEEP THAT CPU. (or sell it to me) J/K

steve

here's my $.02 if you care....

If you had the cash, I'd say keep the CPU and upgrade the mobo and ram. HOWEVER, since it seems you don't, maybe consider selling the CPU and taking the extra money to buy a better mobo and RAM. I'm *sure* there's people within these forums that would give you enough money above the cost of the CPU to buy better oc'ing stuff. anyways, just a thought. Post in the WTS section and see what people offer you.

The chip isn't bettering you until you can OC it.
