well, just experienced my first leak. was playin games most of the day and noticed that they were startin to flake out on me and crash my box a lot. mercifully, I discovered the leak before i wrecked anything. took off the cooler, and am running back on my old FOP 38 rocket.
I know the whole procedure for drying and such, but the reason I'm back on air coolign is because my Gemini High Flow split from the inlet fitting to the edge along the poly top. so what do you guys think I should do? I'm getting a replacement, but definitely NOT anything poly topped after this near death experience. this leaves me with 2 options, Copper top Maze 3, or DTek alluminum top spir@l. the maze is cheaper, and I'm leaning towards that. whichever I choose, what TYPE of fitting should I go with? crome? brass? or poly? I know I need 3/8 for my tube size, and if I go spir@l, its chrome only. but if I go maze, I get my choice. is there a difference in preventing me from having another leak/crack/busted fitting? does metal matter over poly as far as the fitting is concerned? and also, is there a difference between chrome and brass for the maze? (cause chromes a buck cheaper, and i'm near broke as it is).
definitely buying retail, so dont bother suggesting otherwise ;)
