View Full Version : Best performing fan for Thermoengine other than the delta?
I just got a thermoengine for my 1.2 Ghz t-bird and was wondering what is the best fan I could get for it other than the delta fan. I decided to get the thermoengine with the stock fan because I wanted something not that loud. What is the best performing fan out there that doesn't sound like a jumbo jet? Thanks

I've tested one with a Sanyo Denki 27CFM (not the 19.1CFM model), which specs similar to a YS Tech. Ambient: 22C
Idle: 37C
Load: 45C

The Y.S. Tech 26 cfm Fans are nice performers and quiet too, I use two on my heatsink

I am prefacing this with: "I am not a Thermo-Engine user".
The Delta 30Cfm fans are not that intrusive. They are also quite inexpensive.
I have one on an FOP-38(now an Fop-30). The difference cooling efficacy(slightly lower) was more than offset by the difference in noise level.
The virtually unobtainable Pabst 33Cfm fan would be your best option, but finding one is difficult.
If you are going to overclock, you may want to consider a 30 Cfm or better fan.
This (http://www.overclockers.com/articles356/) is a good read on the Thermo-Engine's relative performance using fans of varying air flow.
