ok so i have a cabinet that the pc should sit in, but im wondering about ventilation with the door closed. Is there enough air inside the cabinet to keep the case cool?

It has 2 holes on the bottom of the cabinet and top. and also one on the side for the wires to go to the case. If i cut a hole in the back would it help? Thanks, im just trying to reduce noise.:)

i think it would definitely help if you cut the backside of the cabinet out or else you'll just be recirculating the hot exhaust air.

i'm not sure if the hole alone would help but i think it would be cool if you put some quiet fans in the openings and used them to cycle the air. :)

just run some power cables from inside your case to those fans if u're looking at building a fan enclosure u could also not go wrong if u insulated the inside of your case with sound deadening materia as well look round the net a lot of ppl have done them b4 good starting point www.silentpcreview.com

I knocked out the cardboard in back of my desk housing AND using a jigsaw, I cut a hole in the front door, and decorated it with black screen (from screen door) and brass mesh in front to make it look "pretty" My case temp dropped nearly 10c after that, and the enclosure is much cooler now as well..

Think of the enclosure an an extention of your PC case..

depending on what system u have and how much heat it makes is what is going to determen how far u have to go.

my system running with door closed poots out enuff heat to rase the temp in my room 20c in 1 hour (load) and it takes 2 hours to do it idle

so the more fresh air u can get the better u are
