Im currently running a tbird 1.2@900 and am idle at 45c and system is at 38c

I live in bakersfield where ambiant temps are high.......

am I safe at 45c for just playing games like tribes,CS,ect.....

I plan on going to a lan party today and this is the first time I had to put the case togetter
I have 3 normal fans, fob38 for cpu and 2 small fans 2 or the 3 fans are blowing the air out of the case while the rest are blowing air in

keep your bird under ~50C and you are fine. Optimal temps are around35 with air, but that is optimal.
