p4 volt mod and intel cooler

well Initially I'll be using the stock cooler but will move on to the Swiftech once I get.

Is it safe to use on the intel cooler? I'll be aiming for 1.7V default and not 1.85V.

No need to rush things.
Since you plan to buy a swiftech....just hold your horses and do a mild o\c till then.
Just keep your max temps under 50C

volt mod with stock cooler is asking for a dead chip... i wouldnt expect more then 2.7-8 tops with the stock HSF... just wait for the swiftech then start giving the chip hell.
