View Full Version : taking out 1 fan on PSU
Is it dangerous to take out the intake fan on a two-fan, 350w PSU? I took it out of my Enermax, and the case is now 35C.
The reason is I just don't like noise. Also I don't intend to overclock.

The enermax PSUs don't really need the second fan, but I must tell you, it's really good thing to keep your PSU at a lower temp... so maybe you could find a slower fan to help out your noise problem.
thanks for the reply. To be honest even the one exhaust fan sounds a bit noisy since my goal is silence. Is it safe or easy to change the exhaust fan on the PSU?
I was thinking about doing the same thing with my Antec True power... I'd appreciate any thoughts on this, too.
