I have had my dual xp@1575 running for about 2 months, I go check on it today and see that it had been trying to connect to the FAH network for a few hours unsuccesfully. Then I realized the internet wasn't working either. I have cable and all my other rigs are connected and online. I am 99% sure its not a hardware failure, all the lights were on, on the back of the nic. I have had similar problems with this rig in the past that kind of just spring up out of no where. Last time it was something with the video card(would only do 680x480 and I had to re-install the drivers). I am guessing it is an IRQ conflict but I really have no idea. Usually a clean install fixes this type of thing but the problem is reoccuring. All help would be appreciated.
If the O/S is XP IRQ conflicts are rare because that O/S assigns Virtual IRQ numbers to avoid conflicts.I would up date the driver or uninstall the device and reboot for a auto install of it.....

If you're running at a high FSB, try restarting and running at 133.
Also, try a different network cable. Or shut everything down, unplug your cable modem for a minute, plug it back in and reboot everything. Sometimes the cable modem needs to reboot, itself!

I have had numerous problems with XP reconfiguring the network settings- its worse with dhcp, but ALSO happened with static ip addresses.
Service Pack 1 has fixed my problems- so far...........
But I would reccomend using static ip on the internal network to start with.
Right about now MS is probably about half done with SP2 for XP, since it needs a LOT of work:D
