I was checking Artic Silver site and came to the Artic Silver Epoxy instructions. I'm planning in using the epoxy to glue down a heatsink over my PLL, southbridge and video RAM.

As I have read a lot of problem to removed full strength epoxy to make other upgrade I will be using the downgraded epoxy (1:1 with regular artic silver) to glue this heatsinks.

What bring some attention to me is that AS suggest to use some silicon over the connections of the chip to the board so you'll remove any possible bridge made by the AS compound. Is this recomendable? I think I'll do it anyway. Can hurt to be cautionous?

Or you could use painters masking tape (blue), and pull it out after the epoxy has set.

I'd bet as long as you don't slather the stuff on like a cinnabon, it won't run out from between the two mating surfaces and drizzle down on the pins. That, having been said, a quick spritz of conformal coat on the pins probably won't hurt.

AS epoxy is conductive and you can fry things if you bridge conections that shouldn't be. Either tape, silicone, or some other conformal coating is a good idea just in case. I have used the stuff without covering the pins but then I had the right amount on so it didn't ooze out all over the place.

Hoot, what is a cinnabon? Sounds like a candy. LOL
That's a cool word, and I want to use it. I'm guessing it's synonomous (sp) with maniac.

definately use some type of masking tape on the pins, and try to find as many things that need doing at once as you aways end up mixing too much so you may as well put it to good use.
