ive been having an on going problem with my computer the last 2 weeks or so. if my computer runs for a while, and i reset it for whatever reason, it will post, but wont boot into windows. it gets to the boot from cd check thing, then stops. if you wait for a minute or so, it will say disk boot failure, insert system disk. if i let the computer sit for a little while, then try it again, it will usually boot fine. sometimes, i can unplug one of the ide's, plug it back it, and it will fire up just fine. sometimes i have to wait a few minutes, sometimes i have to wait over night. i dont know what could be causing it. when it does finally boot into windows, i dont lose any information. even when it wont boot, both drives show up as functional in the raid bios, but if you try to run the windows xp repair utility, it wont recognize any hdd's. someone suggested heat, but i dont really think thats it. i have a thermometer on one of the drives, and it never gets more than a degree or two above ambient. i have an 80mm fan blowing over each drive. case temps are usually 25-26c. if you have any ideas, i would love to hear them. thanks again.

Seems that you RAID card is sleeping to much. Try setting PCI Latency to 32...

Hi!

I have a similar problem with my shutlle SN45G. I have a disk failure every time I reboot when my hard disk is the first in the boot sequence. To be able to boot, my CD is the first and the hard disk the second in the boot sequence. In addition i need to insert a bootable CD disk when the shuttle reboots, then without accepting to boot on the CD, SN45G boots finally with the hard disk!!!

What a mess? Do you have any ideas?

Cheers
