Hi all :D

My dirty litle hands got ahold of my bros rig today and all h*** broke loose;)

I'l start my story from the very begining...

About a month ago I hand picked a Athlon XP 1600+ (AGOIA-Y 0213) form a local store in anticipation of a new n-Force 2 mobo. So much for the anticipation

About a week ago my bro let me test run my processor in his ASUS A7V333 system And managed to get it to about 1850Mhz or so before it became crash happy.

Yesteday I finally found a local store that sold conductive epoxy and grabed the last package ASAP!

Last night I applied the epoxy 3 or 4 times before it actually looked good.

Now for today! After I got the processor in the machine, I jumped into the BIOS imeaditly and whula! It was Unlocked :D:beer::bday:. I started going threw the multipliers .5 at a time starting @ 9.0 and going up to 12.5. After I set the multi, I'd go into windows and open CPU Cool, I'd open the Fine tuning feature and start cranking up the FSB till it would crash! During this hole time I left the VCore @ 1.85.

I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW HIGH I GOT THIS THING!

out of all of the tweaking the highest I managed to get it was 1974Mhz @ 11.5 x 171.65. After going on to 12.5X, I decided to go back to 11.5 X and go for it again! Guess what, I got it again, and better! it went to 1979.15Mhz (172.1 X 11.5)

Anyways, After I got it clocked up there, I started up a game and played for about 10 minutes! NO PROBLEMS.

This processors Crazy, 579Mhz ON AIR, This thing Kicks ASS

EDIT: I forgot to mention a couple Importand details:
1) This is using a Thermaltake Volcano 9 (w/ 80+CFM Fan @ 5400RPM) and...
2)The core temp was 48C Idle (@ 1.98Ghz &1.85VCore)

Sweet, Hope the nForce-2 can handle that fierce FSB!

im working on that kind of speed, man i want to unlock this sucker...locked it will do 1.95ghz nearly 100% stable..(it will restart after a few days) and since i have just about the best ram you can get, a sweet overclocking motherboard, great heatsink/fan..i should be able to get 2 ghz..im running 1.9 ghz right now..at 37 C...its about 23C in my room, and i dont know why my case temps are 28C...very odd, but when i can get the case down to 25 or so, its all over

That's a truely awesome oc on air. I have just managed to go through the 2G mark with my refrigeration cooling (12x166 which is mathematically below but the cpuid is giving 2010) but its not quite stable failing Prime '95 test at the 10th set. I am sure with more work it'll be stable.

Yeasterday at a local computer fair I bought an xp2000, they were all in a display case but I never hand picked one. Anyway mine turned out to be a AGOIA-Y 0213!

I also have the same board as you, all I need is a new hardrive and I will be ready to start building. Hopefully it will overclock as good as yours :)

I currently have my XP1600+ @ 1750Mhz (10.5x166) @ 1.70v!
I was able to get it to 1840Mhz (10.5x175) @ 1.775, but now I am waiting to go Water Cooled before I push her higher. Parts are in the mail :D

You guys get fluctuations in your core voltage? Mine is set to 1.80 in BIOS but is 1.82 - 1.85 in XP with MBM5. Normal?
:eh?:

About my hand-picking, I got It from a local store at the same time my bro picked up his new machine. When I went, I just asked the guy behind the counter if I could see the trey of 1600+'s and he handed em right to me, Since out of the 15 or so, they were all AGOIA-Y 0213's, I just picked out the shinest one! Personly, If you order a 1600+ right now online from anyone who would have a recent stock, I'd bet that 999 times outa a 1,000 it will be an AGOIA-Y 0213.

I am very happy with my 1600+ @ 1.75ghz without any problem:beer:

U gota be drunk!!!;) why not 1.9Ghz!

Sounds very normal to me, It all depends on how good the VR is. If thats all it's varying, Your just fine.

I've seen, keep it up...

Anyways, I've found my sweat spot!

So far in my bros mainboard, I have it @1925Mhz (11X175) right now and it's ROCK SOLID for 48Hours now. :D:D:D

As of right now, I have it running on 1.8VCOre and it's running at 46C w/ a case temp of 28C.

I Can't wait for an nForce2 and watercooling!

Now I think I'm gona go update my sig...

UPDATE: Now that my room has cooled off it's now 24C case temp and 45.5C. How good does everyone think these temps r?

My AGOIA Y 0213 is crazy awesome too...

Does 174 fsb, locked, on air (crappy air at that) before my ram goes! I wish I had better ram, but that might come later. Here's a screenie of my best 3dmark, with a Ti4200, barely OCed, and CPUID on it too...

This on 1.85V, although I have a feeling it'd do just as well on 1.75V, I just havent tried. Currently at 166fsb and 1.75V!!!!

(best 60 bucks I ever spent)

Good temps, right around what I am getting on mine with a AX-7 and delta 68.5cfm.

I'm gona try to re-unlock it right now (@ mid-night) I think I lost all my .5's for some reason.

Here's an update on what I did tonight. I tried to overvolt it for fun but it started reseting in the middle of start up even though I knew everything had to be fine, so I went and raised the shutdown temp for ASUS's "COP" (CPU Overheat Protection) from 60C to 100C. Haven't had a problem w/ that eversince!

With that outa the way, I have a new found power, I GOT IT ABOVE 2GHZ. First was: 12X166FSB, then I got 12X170 to boot all the way up! Of course it was w/ 2.15~2.20VCore and 60C, so I didn't feel like keeping it there for long. To bad.

I NEED WATER COOLING!!!
