OK i finally fiqured out why my card was getting low scores it was becuase it was sharring IQ with 3 diff things in my computer well i fixed that.

Now i o/ced my card to 342/684

and my fsb is about as high as i can go with this stingy agp bus card heh.

here

http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4711382

could anyone point me to a tweaker that autamaticly tweaks the card out.

I already tweaked the drivers meaning the little settings that ati gives.

Everyone else seems to care, but the phrase "I NEED 196 more points please help for 14k" is a pathetic plea for an unworthy cause.

How do you turn on the most agressive memory timings?

OC Noob

Go into your mobo bios and look for your dramm timing settings. Then set them as low as you can go (stable of course).

If you compared the hardware used to get the 20k mark and the hardware to get to 14k and still don’t get it, then why are you on a forum called “over-clockers forum”. If to get a higher score or faster computer, you just went out and bought new hardware (wouldn’t be much use for water cooling or peltiers) that would take away all the fun in seeing how far you can tweak your “current hardware”. And I agree no question is pathetic.

Good score RE12. I also have a Radeon 9700 and im getting about 14k with system oc just no oc on the Video Card. I dont want to ruin my card so Im not gunna oc it until i get some better cooling. Im thinking about just using my old cpu fx Video card wb for the core. Im not sure that will be good enuf though.

Don't forget. Unless your CPU is unlocked ( I assume it is not ) then if your CPU is overclocked, that means you changed your FSB, hence your video card is really already overclocked to some degree.

I care. If it's important to him, everyone cares. That's the way it is around here.

I would help him personally if I could. if you asked me a question about an AMD proc, though I see no purpose for them except for a possible griddle for pancakes, would I insult you and tell you it's pathetic if you want another 50 mhz overclock? NO. I'd help in any way I could.

Lighten up. It's pathetic that I have to waste my time responding to a post like that.

Probably the easiest way to change the IRQ of your SCSI card is to open up your computer and move the card to another slot, the PCI slot directly below your AGP card is usually shared with your video card.

I have a PCI raid card that will not work in any other PCI slot except Slot 1 on my Abit SR7-8x. Any other slots it won't find the drives.

Ya I know. What I meant was not gunna overclock the Memory or core of the card.

And my cpu is unlocked:p

First off let me say that I have shared IRQs with my vid card before and have never had a problem or even noticed decreased performance so I wouldnt worry about it, especially if everything is working alright.

In Win 98 (probably all win 9x OSs) you can manually change the IRQ in the device manager (in this case you would go to properties for the RAID controller) and clcik the resources tab. In that window just click the IRQ and then click where it says change value (or something similar) and set a new IRQ for it. You may have to set the ACPI option in your BIOS to disabled in order to change the resources, not sure (see below).

For windows XP (not sure about 2000/NT) it will require a reinstall of the OS to change the value if you have the ACPI in the BIOS enabled. If ACPI is disabled then you should be able to change it as with win98 above. If ACPI is enabled then winXP will not allow you to change the resources, if you disable ACPI then winXP will not boot (just tried it) until you enable it again. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you do disable ACPI and reinstall winXP then you will lose all ACPI functionality and enabling ACPI again would probably require another reinstall of the OS. For more info see the
this Microsoft Knowledge Base article (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q315278).

Again let me stress that sharing an IRQ is not such a big deal (unless it is causing you severe problems) and for winXP in particular it seems as though changing the IRQ is much more trouble then its worth (I havent tried reinstalling winXP and changing it). Moving the card from one slot to another to change the IRQ is, IMO, quick and easy so if that is an option then its worth a try. If, as in cw823's case, you cannot move the card then I would just forget about it. If your PCI slots are all full then put a card in the first slot (shared IRQ) that will not be in use while gaming (ie. DVD decoder, TV capture... NOT your sound card, RAID card or SCSI card (if you have SCSI hard drives, if you dont it should be just fine).

I appreciate your attempt to help, but changing IRQ's in the OS wouldn't help me if it never sees the drives in the first place.

I didn't say it's a problem; I don't even care. Just making a point, that's all.
