I'm getting an Epox 8k5a2+ and I want 3 gigs of mem.

Not familar with the board.
How many memory slots?
If it's three then you will have to find 1gb memory modules.
I don't think there are any now other than 2100 speed.

I have never seen a 2700 1gb memory stick.
I haven't looked much latley so there migh be one but you choices are going to be limited even with 1gb 2100.

Go to www.pricewatch.com and see what you can find.

While 3gb of memory might sound nice why do you want so much memory?

If it's worth the $900+ price for 3gb to you go for it.

With 512mb sticks you can get all brands in all different speeds. If you want the better stuff look for corsair 3200 cas2.

you can get 1 gig sticks of ram at mushikin.com but its only DDR 2100. thats as fast as I have ever seen in 1 gig sticks...

Can;t have too much RAM lol... but I would say to just go with 3 x 512MB. 1.5 GB is plenty enough... helo you get rid of all that use of the virtual memory.

Are you joking...? Or are you planning to use them on dif comps? Other than that, the only reason i can see is that you have loads of money..

If you are wanting to run that memory fast you will have real stability issues by filling all 3 slots. I can't run mine at 166 with 2 sticks. I have seen alot of people having issues by filling all the memory slots. Not sure why epox puts them there if you can't use them, hell my board has 4 of them and won't run correctly with 2 in it.

3 gigs might be a little over doing it but whatever floates your boat. However, I would go with something less. The money you will save is worth it.
