The other thread was getting a bit bogged down, so let's keep this one clean for the new guys that are looking for info on the team and the site...

The OC3DMark Team is a group of members from the overclockers.com forums that overclock our video cards for benchmark scoring with MadOnion's 3DMark benchmark software. MadOnion has an Online Results Browser (ORB) that databases millions of video card scores, and the members of the OC3DMark Team would like to get a few of our scores on the front page of the ORB.

Even if your score is not a front-pager (mine isn't, either, so don't feel bad :) ), we would still enjoy your company, so join up today! The site is http://oc3dmark.octeams.com There you will find the rules of the team, what you need to do to become a member, and a lot of other stuff as well. Some of the top scoring members share their secrets on tweaking their cards and systems, so make sure you check the database. Also, the Tips and Links section also has some invaluable information on video card benching/settings/cooling/etc, so be sure to look there as well.

Even if you aren't into o/c'ing your video card, we also run default scores, to help you see what the card will do stock, in case you are in the market for a new card and want to see the performance numbers on it.

Welcome to OC3dmark everyone! Hope you enjoy the closeness of the competition for 3d performance, the comraderie, and the ease of swapping of tweak tips with our members.

I'd also like to add that OC3dmark has a sister in the Folding@Home forum- OC3d. OC3d is a username that many of OC3dmark's members use when running the Distributed Computing project Folding@Home. Of course many people enjoy folding on there own personal username. OC3d is our way of storming the very top ranks of the folding@home community. If you're interested, check out the Folding@Home forum and look for threads about the project and about OC3d. OC3d is a distributed F@H supercomputer, currently composed of 80-some processors and ranked #22 in the world!

I have a few Ati scores to update on the site... rest assured I will get it done promptly. Haven't been home much lately, but I'll have some time soon and will be able to upload the new scores shortly.

I just got a sys admin job! But I'm not really qualified :( so its more like an internship. What this means as far as my status as a mod for OC3dmark goes is that, for the next three months I'm going to be shoving knowledge of networking, linux/unix, perl script and probably a thousand other topics directly into my brain via cat 5 cable, every waking minute (and I'll look into subliminal while-you-sleep training solutions too!). I have to meet certain training goals if I want to keep this job and advance to a more full-time position. I may become a scarce visitor of the forums for awhile and move over to more linux-oriented forums. :(

But overall I'm absolutely stoked :D about the work that lies ahead of me. I should be able to keep modding for OC3dmark for at least a few weeks, although I already have trouble getting regular access to computers I'm allowed to install ftp clients on (yeah, I barely get to use my own computers right now, too darn busy to even go home).

So pretty soon I may be giving up updating OC3dmark. I didn't expect this sort of thing to happen, but I certainly can't complain. I mean, there are worse things that could have befallen me...

Just one thing though, I don't think it has the most up to date scores. THe old page already had me at 13,132. don't know if you remember updating it last week.

Well i got my kx7-333 2 days ago, and im trying to get my scoreing up. Altho i can oc alot more on the kx7-333 and i couldnt on the at7, but the at7 got me more points on the same oc.
So i might try different kx7 bios, as i used an older at7 bios, the new ones that updated for the .13 cpus killed me in 3dmark for some reason. so im hopeing that might be my prob here.

But im up to 10,489 w/ a axp1600+/gf3 ti500

683points from the record axp/gf3 ti500 combo.

Wish me luck, as i think i have a lil room left to Break 11k again!

It says in your sig you have a GF3 TI500 but the madonion compare score link has you with a GF4 TI4200 on the way. What TI4200 did you get? Don't forget to update your sig.

Oc.com Disabled users to use Hotmail accounts. So i cant Change Anything in my account or i just get a message saying i cant use a hotmail address. So i pmd shadow to see if he could fix it for me. But i dunno. i dont use my isp, and i dont use any windows based email programs. (too much crap)

Well thats what i thought too.. but my memory wont do past 180 slow timings, and past 170fsb agressive timmings.
id need like 185fsb w/ good timmings to get 14k+, but 12k looks to be it for me.
ive tryed upping the vmem to 2.92v and still wont do anything good past 170fsb.
@180fsb slow timmings i get over 500 points lower then 170fsb max timmings.
So i need new memory. basically the story. this memory gave me more then it was stated for, and i guess i hit its limit. :(

My default score w/ my MSI GF4 TI4200 is 10,189. I guess that's the average default score for the TI4200.

Could be higher w/ a little more RIva tuner tweaks.

The whole point of defualt is w/o tweaks/oc'n. you run a default score, then a oc'd/tweaked score.

Alright, I'm going to try to upload some stock-piled score updates tomorrow. I've had a real hard time getting regular access to a computer with an ftp client since I've been away from home for most of the last 2 weeks. silver how you got that score at only 188mhz fsb is just plain remarkable.. with my msi ti at 357/789 and a 201mhz fsb I just edge you out.. and abit mobo's are the 3dmark kings right :) ?

Yeah, the Abit is the board though the Epox seems to be able to hold its own with a little tweaking. Maxvla, thanks. Think there is a little more in there, maybe 11,800 or so. For the money a very good card.

Need to put together an air cooled system for Alabama so I can stay in touch with you guys. Needs to be on a budget and a little different than the 'norm'. Am working on some ideas however it looks like the slk800 is the sink to go with these days. Have not ironed out the idea yet. Ti4200 as it is the budget card, Antec 400 with the ps2 for future upgrades. Ram, undecided. Mobo, maybe an Abit if the price is right. Will make the rest out of what I can find. Now, where can one find a descent xp1600 chip? Then again maybe the xp2400 will fall enough before I get it together. Open to ideas.

Qwerty, good score on air guy. Would love to play with an xp2600 or 2700 but alas the funds are a little tight right now so will try to give the guys with little money some ideas on what is possible. Later All.

That Custom machined slk-600 cooler is certainly doing the trick allowing your Ti to be clocked @ 363/791. :D

Mine will only hit 338 core w/air, thinking about v-modding and going with a water-cooled 80w pelt again.

yes v-modded just the gpu to 2.2v(up from a low 1.67v lol)
memory has always done 795 artifact free and will do up to 810mhz with minor artifacting if its in a mobo with a agp voltage selector in the bios that lets the agp run at 1.8v..


I really want to see AMD hits 17k with Ti4600...go get them

Ill push it again tommorow and see if I can run 12x202=2442mhz and 379/795 on the ti that should do the trick :)

Yea, you're right qwerty57, we have the ability among us here from several excellent overclockers in our forum to reach the 19k to 20k plus scores!

Maybe I'll get up off my dead arse and grab me a 9700 and get to modding my mobo and GPU like the good ole days!

I have the forum name at Mad Onion as GJTM8, and have led the orb on different occasions, and yes that's all operating systems, any MHz, any chip and any video card, #1 for all. Was the first to reach 14k in the database, so on and so on. Me and dj went back and forth forever.
Now I'm not tooting my own horn, believe me, but it takes a lot of time and dedication to acheive the top page in the orb and stay there, especially since the prometia and LN2'er's have hit the scene!

I have 226w pelts, 3 or 4 dedicated PSU's and several different water cooling setups at the moment plus the soldering stuff to go along with it, but lost some of my dedication and enthusiasm for high scores in 3DMark. I guess it's time to get pumped up and quit being so lazy and see what I can do.

I love gaming like a lot of folks here and that's just what I have been spending most of my time doing, but I need to buckle down and get back to work!
Maybe a new 3DMark would help. ;)

With our team's size, I would say in each class we have at least one front-pagers within his/her class, so this isn't a problem.

ok guys I just forked out 180 dollars for the nforce2, 320 dollars for a dangerden h20 kit with 226w pelt and a extra h20 block for my ti4600 with pelt :), so now Ill brake 17k and sell the ti4600 to my friend and pick up a 9700 this weekend :) I still don't know if the 180 bucks for 500 3dmarks going from kt333 to NF2 was in good judgement but the H20 setup was long overdue.. sick of these damm 100000rpm fans costing my 500bucks a month on migrane medication :) maybe with ice and some volt's Ill run up in the 19's to 20's.. whats funny guys is my friend (has 2400+) maxed out his chip at 2.1v at 2280mhz right. then in the asus nf2 at only 1,85v he's running 2300mhz :0 damm via and instability right.. well anyways Im looking for a fourth full time job if you know of any let me know guys :).

yes L3 5th bridge closed to get 5x-12.5x, and 1.85v vcore to get 2300mhz.. crappy 2600+ I borrowed a friends 2400+ and that did 2400mhz :) not bad for a 1500rpm fan tho on the slk-800.

god. i am so confused on this ram situation.

ive got a TH7II in my closet awaiting rdram, yet i talked to larva in the memory forum and he's got ddr that costs 150 for 512mb that does 216mhz cas2.

to use my chip to its fullest potential (166mhz) i would need ddr that could do 221mhz. it would be quite a bonus if it was at cas2 as well.

the rdram would either limit me to about 150mhz fsb with the 4x rdr or the ram would be limited by my chip at 166mhz fsb with the 3x (which can go quite a bit faster)

arg!!!

if i had that ram at 221mhz i would certainly be well into the 14,000's if not 15,000.

edit: said ddr is Kingston PC2700 valueram.

Just reviewing some of the posted scores and ran into one that would seem to be rather dubious. It was in the 9700 area and seems to make light of the AMD processors in that Taxme's xp1900 running at 3050Mhz on a scalable GPU scoring only 16G+ would seem to be .....well, dubious. I would suspect that the cpu is in fact operating in the range of 2050 rather than 3050Mhz. Just a note of correction possibly.

Where are the guys with the 9700's and xp2400's? These two in combination with an epox or abit should be cresting the 20g mark. Hate to think that it is going to take a xp2800, nforce2 and fx to see someone here over 20g. I know that there is a lot of talent here. Come on guys. The Intels have all the top spots.

well after nforce2 try outs Ive came to the conclusion that the nforce2 though faster at 166mhz fsb by 500+ marks still is only a little faster 100-200 marks at max speed compared to my abit kx7-333r, so I might just install my abit back in return the mobo sell my ti4600 for $100 dollars and grab a 9700 again after all..

Ok, I'm getting 1760 now with my CPU OC'ed to 1243 (FSB=113,

I don't know whats holding my FSB back; the fact that I have a Duron CPU or my video (PCI card!) may be cutting out because of whacko PCI speeds at 115 mHz FSB and up. Does anyone think I can take this higher or should I tweak up my RAM timings? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

i say let everyone have a bio if they want one. someone may have a killer mod on a ti4600 but be limited by an athlon 1.2ghz chip making their overall score not high enough to get a bio. (just dreamed that up but it could happen)

possibly have in the member updates section a spot to update the bio as well as the scores. that would make it easier for you to collect data.

Its cold and my comps are in the garage. I've been moving about a lot and working fill-time x2, plus studying on the side.... but at last I think I can squeeze some time for benching. I own 3 custom palomino PC's now. AMD reality check comes to town tomorrow, and I'm gonna drag some friends and see if I can't win something. Yay! I got 1812 3dmarks just a few minutes ago! FSB=112 CPU=1239 and GPU=168.6/168.6 (stock is 164.5/164.5) I have my RAM set to the most agressive timings available and it's still stable! I really don't think this can get much higher though, because any more OC to the video card causes tears in the picture. If I bump the FSB past 113, it won't boot at all! Even with RAM timings loosened! My eventual goal has been 2000 3dmarks but it seems I may not get there... Unless the PSU is the problem, which I'm replacing soon. A new one may allow a further OC :D

Hi, i wasn't sure where to post this question, so i did it here.

My setup:

p4 2.4GHz
256 pc2700 ram
gf4 ti4200
windows xp

With all default settings, and everything at stock speeds i got 10,748.

Is this a good score?

Does the mipmap settings make a difference? (they were at high quality)

memory timings/or non enoght voltage or just to high fsb for it to take. cpu overclocked to much and or not enough voltage, gpu/mem on vc oc'ed to high and or not enogh voltage.. the first two cpu and system memory and or fsb more than liky the cause..
do what i do...

post at 133mhz fsb and defualt cpu speed max out the vc to the absolute max before articats or lockups. my card will do 3dmark at 372 overnight core but at 373 loclup right away.. next drop multi and find max fsb by running prime95 for 30min.. same for cpu prime95 if you meet all pof those 100% for sure usally 3dmark will complete

I was able to run prime95 for an hour at whatever speed (multi x fsb) that kicked me out of 3dmark.
Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks for the responses.

yeah im sure with my ti4600 in your pc you would easily break 18k :) Im looking for a wonder AMD chip you know the 100 dollar chip with the 2800+ 400 dollar chip core stepping so I can run say 2700-2800mhz that would be nice...

I haven't posted my benches with the 9700pro for the team yet. My KX7-333r is crippling the 2400+. FSB at 180, no fast ram timings other than cas 2, no fast or ultra cpu decode. 15k9 3dmarks. But the 8rda just came in and I'm backing up my files so I can tear apart the raid array and start over with the new board. I'm getting the parts for the vdd mod and I've already beefed up the NB, SB and mosfets. I should have the time to install this thing and run some benches in a few days. I'm hoping for mid-17k, and if I don't get it, I'll get a couple of twinMOS sticks and try dual channel. I also have a 2100+ lying around and it may just OC better than this 2400+. I'm dying to find out!

I'm not sure how it compares to ATI-made 9700pros. Its not really a fair comparison to most in any case, with the side panel fan, winter-time cold garage, tweakmonster ramsinks, and retail AMD HSF. But it is nice! :D

This KX7 is just sucking for Tbreds. I got slightly better scores when I had a palomino 1800+ @ 1785 (198x9.5) compared to the tbred @ 2250 (180x12.5). Ram timings, FSB, and cpu decode really help make a good score.

I don't think my corsair will do much above 200. Its rated PC3200 cas 2.5 ram. Bought a week before Corsair introduced the PC3200 cas 2 stuff. :( Still, I just got paid and extra ram shouldn't be hard to swing.

Upped my 3dmark 2k1 and 2k3 scores even though I lost about 120mhz on my CPU recently from wear and tear of vcore above 1.85v.

Then try it out for yourself if you feel you have the guts. It's really fun when it works. (Maybe not that fun if you fry your 300$ card, though... :o)

I could probably manage even closer to 21k points if i formatted. This score is with Catalyst 3.2. Too bad I do not have time for another format right now. I have to sell the rig in a week or two because I have to join the army.
I think I'll be back in a year from now with a new (hopefully) top score. :p

I couldnt have gotten my sytem and card too where it is today without the help from this community. Im using 3D'03 and a 9600pro. My system has been tortured for 15hrs with prime95 and 12hrs with memtest86 test-5. Want to join the OC3DMark Team? Well, look no further. Joining is simple. To get started:

1. Join the www.overclockers.com forums.

2. Download the latest version of MadOnion's 3DMark® software, install it, and run a full benchmark test at default settings.

I sorta wish all the tests wouldn't be needed. I spent about 5 hours straight getting my top score, and I didn't even think about all the rest of em. This is the only 3dmark team that I've seen that seems to put more emphasis on real-world stability than pushing your hardware to the max. If you're benching competitively, or towards a goal, stability is the last thing you think of.
