I'm looking for memory which makes 200+ for the nForce2 and meanwhile on a KT333. I came around the TwinMOS memory with Winbond 5ns.
check http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=review&dId=375&dPage=2
for a review.
What do you think of this? It's a lot cheaper than corsair xms3200 and uses the same chips than xms3500.
Another thing is how much sticks to buy. Twinmos says that you can't reach the same timings with 2 sticks that with only one. So should I go for only 1x512MB or 2x256MB. The other thing is - will twin bank (nforce2) work with only one stick of RAM? (the TwinMOS is singlesided, right? Only the 256 stick? Could the 512 MB stick be doublesided?)
They should perform the same, TwinMOS is well known for OCing too. Just a question, where are you going to order it?
This place sells it.

You can use one stick of memory in a nf2 but if you want to use dual channel you will need two.

Even if the stick is doublesided?
I could get some 512 MB sticks (PC400) with 5ns Winbond, but I don't know the PCB producer - is it a risk to buy them? They are at about the same as the TwinMOS - but there aren't Winbond on the TwinMOS I can get ....
Yes even double sided. You need two seperate sticks for dual channel on the nf2.
Yes it is a risk to buy a stick made buy someone other than the mfg. you are looking at but with the same chips. It might be as good and it might not.

Okay, the original TwinMOS I can get has original TwinMOS Chips - they don't know how fast they are. I can get them as 256 MB and 512 MB sticks.
They also have TwinMOS memory with Winbond 5ns - but only 512 MB .... and I don't really need 1GB of RAM ....
So what would you do? Buy two TwinMOS/TwinMOS or wait what crucial says, because the PC2100 I have doesn't post on my new 8K5A2 - and runs perfekt on my 8KHA+ ....
Data of the Crucial PC2100:
CT32664Z265.16T
MT16VDDT3264AG-265A1, PC2100U-25330-B1
#1
CBNAQZ4003 200145
MT 01311 BP111B3.ZW
#2
CBNAPSX002 200139
MT 200139 BP1119H.K1
Maybe the give me a exchange to PC2700/3200 .... :D
I would wait until you can find some 256 with the 5ns winbond chips or get a different memory brand all together if you want to run dual channel.

Tried my crucial again after a CMOS reset and well, they're running. I read of problmes when plugging them in with to less force getting the same problem - I thinks this was my fault too.
They run with 180 MHz @ turbo, cl2, 4bank (2.9V) - I'm pretty happy with this and now I have time to wait for nforce2 and the right RAMs ....
btw - do you know if I get problems when I plug my RAID xard in the new board? Will WinXP run my RAID 0 or will I have to reinstall it?
Probably have to reinstall xp. Just a guess, I am not much of a raid user.
