Well, you could try to clear the CMOS. It kinda sound like you screwed it up, but I really cannot say one way or the other.

Someon else?

another bit of info....it sounded like it was booting and the little red light led (that shows errors and such went on) but then the whole thing went to hell and the lights turned off and the harddrives stopped spinning....:( Now All i get is the power on and that little red light in the top right corner of the board. The hardrives are spinning but it really doesnt even sound like the system is doing anything. Im really bummed if anyone can help me out it would be deeply appreciated :)

that sucks man. the only thing i can tell ya is it sounds to me like the bridges didnt get connected properly. or even one set of bridges could be touching another set. first though....you really should clear your cmos. then try to boot, it could be as simple as that. if that doesnt do the trick then take the cpu out and with a small pin, needle, or razor blade...and be careful here...make sure all the bridges are completely cleaned off. then use something to wipe it off. what did you use to fill the gaps between the L1 bridges? anyways...do a good job of cleaning those points....and try to reboot the pc.

I agree with the above. Try to get everything you can off of the bridges so that it looks as it did when you started and see if that works after clearing your CMOS. If it doesn't work, either your CPU or your mobo is dead. If it doesn't work, try a different CPU in the board. If you've got a daring friend, you might try using your nuked XP on their board and see if it was your processor, but that could break their mobo too, so I recommend using a spare one of your own. Sorry for your luck

I've had this happen to me a few times when I first started unlocking xp's...before you trash the cpu or mobo, clean the bridges VERY well as the mentioned above. Then clear the cmos for several seconds and try to boot it up again once more. Hopefully it'll boot right up! Thats been the case with me each time it happened to me so hopefully it'll work for you too.

on my epox board as i mentioned before the lights were on the very first time i booted up.. and now there not on except for that one...Does this mean my mobo is dead or just my cpu? i just tried cleaning the processor off really well and clearing the cmos and no luck :( Another weird thing i noticed was that when i powered on the cdroms were all funky one of the lights was on and both wouldnt open? Aww man i shouldnt have tried to unlock it...damn.
