Another good evening folks...
Ok, decided to see just what this 2.26 was made out of since everyone else has had great luck with it. I was previously OC'ing her to 2700+ 24hr Prime95 stable @ 1.6vcore. Then I tried pushing her @ 165 fsb but I couldn't keep her stable at that fsb. Changed out my PSU to a Antec TP 430w and sat at the old speed I had for awhile. Tonight I decided to try it out again so I went to the CPU data base to see what peeps were pushing their 2.26's at and at what vcore. So I adjusted my fsb to 165 and my vcore to 1.7, (may have to do the pin mod after all but I'm a chicken $hit and am afraid of SDS with voltages over 1.7) and it boots perfectly well in to windows and I am now sitting at 2808. Haven't run Prime95 yet but will when I hit the rack...
Now what was my point? Oh yea...
My motherboard will occasionally report, "Improper CPU voltage setting" when booting with my vcore maxed out at 1.7. Does anyone know why it does this? The strange thing is, it won't do that all the time. Hmm.
Anyway, just to report current temps I'm at 28C idle and 40C load. I am on air using TT Volcano 7+. I'm not going to get in to any arguments over peeps telling me I am a liar about these temps...already been through that here. I use MBM to monitor my temps/voltages. I also keep my case very tidy with lots of case fans including the gusty Vantec 80mm Hurricane mounted in to the side of the case pointing between the video card and cpu.
If anyone knows why my MB reports this, (and why sometimes it doesn't) I would greatly appreciate the info!
-out.
