im still trying to figure out my airflow plans. im gonna be using one of the antec 1040 cases, or one of its cheaper spawns. take a look:

im not sure whether i want to add that 120mm blowhole on the top yet... (if i do, it will be a vantec stealth). what are your opinions? do you think its a good idea to have that second fan tilted 45 degrees upwards towards the cpu and exhaust fans? i thought if i did that, i'd get the cool air over to the monster 84 cfm tornado in time so that it doesn't suck air through the exhausts back in because of its power. i think it might speed up airflow too. i haven't tried this before because im still using a frigging dell with one crappy fan and a passive heatsink... im just trying to plan out the comp im gonna build later. opinions guys?

as long as CFMin - CMFout > 0 than you are fine really. that setup is good but you wont need the extra fan at an angle inside the case, it wont help much IMO.

hmm..... mabye ill just get it and try it... if it doesn't help much ill just try to use it as a second intake or sumtin.

Blowholes on top get rid of a lot of stagnant, hot air. Do it.

what about the tilted fan? what do you think i should do with that?

I would install it into the side of the case as an intake, probably above the cpu or the video card, or both if the fan can cover both of them. Maybe even duct it directly to the cpu due to the fans on the back, that way it will bring cool air directly to the hot areas of the case, but if the Lian Li case has a window it might look a little ugly.

yeah.... im getting an antec/chieftech/chenming case, im gonna cut window... so im trying to avoid side intakes and ugly ducting and stuff...

side intake is the way to go, or port the cpu fan to an outside hole...like on the back or something. i'm going to put a 120mm on the side blowing on the video card and cpu fan, and i'll put the same on the top as a blowhole.

Here is a link to my setup. The fan in the font of the case, right up on top, blows across my hard drive. There is a fan mounted directly behind it (above the power supply). This way the air comes in, cools off my drive, blows right out of the back along with all the other hot air. That was how I did it anyway.
