Ok a few weeks back I had messed around a little in upin the fsb on my pc mentioned in my sig. Well I uped the fsb too high and windows corrupted so I formated and reinstalled. Though now I seem to get alot of game crashes. At first I suspected it was one game causing trouble, but now their all just crashing randomly. It gets very anoying when warcraft 3 crashes in the middle of a long battle, or Unreal Tonrement 2003 crashes when fighting. Though I think the reason I am getting these crashes might be somthing to do with my memory... I dunno though... like the error messages seem to be memmory related. Oh and in case ur wondering, NO my pc is NOT overclocked or anything right now.. its all set back to stock. Heres a pic of one of the error messages I get when the games crash... I dont usualy get these messages except for when playing warcraft 3 when it crashes, but before I got this one when playing Unreal Tornement 2003 and it crashed... Usually the games crash and the windows xp send error report box comes up. Any help as how to fix this would be apriciated. Thanks!

Heres a error Message I get somtimes when WarCraft 3 crashes: " FATAL ERROR! The Instruction at '0x6F07E93A' referenced memory at '0x000000030'. The memory could not be 'read'. Press Ok to Terminate App." and now I just realized that thats the same error message I get when Unreal Tornement 2003 crashes somtimes.. usually UT2003 brings up a engine console type box and tells me it crashed but ive gotten that error message a few times for it too. Also when I play other games like MOHAA the game just crashes with a "Send Error Report Box"

Try seating the Ram stick in another slot and see what happens.

Did you reset your bios to defaults? Memory timings especially. Try working up from the relaxed settings.

Good Luck

Ive got the same problem. I would think there should be some way that W2K could repair itself when it gets corrupted like that. Is there? I know Nortn Windoctr finds and fixes problems, but that doesn't fix it either. Any way to avoid a reinstall?

yea theirs a way to fix windows when that happends and doesnt boot without format and reinstalling. What you do is stick the Windows cd into your pc when booting and run the Recovery Console. Then from their you enter abunch of these commands where it'll copy and paste new registery files off the Windows cd and onto your pc. Though when I atempted to do this, I failed, probely because I didnt read the format corretly that the website which had the instructions to do this was written in and pressed enter at the wrong times that just made it completely messed up. It doesnt seem like many people have good luck in getting it to work though and usually end up formating and reinstalling. Now as for this crash problem im having: Yes I belive all my settings are back to normal, I used the crappy EzTune 3 Utility that my mobo came with which just seems to up the fsb when windows boots up so I dont think It adjusted any BIOS settings. Though I might have adjusted something like CAS settings once in their... pretty sure I set it all back though... Ill reset my bios and see if that helps.
